Alcan Roadtrip: Day 2, Prince George, British Columbia, to Fort Nelson, British Columbia

The second day of our trip started with our first major wildlife sighting - as we drove out of Prince George, I saw two black bears run along the side of the highway into the woods. Of course, black bears also reside in the woods around my parents' house, like this one (who has demolished several bird feeders at this point):
But still, it was exciting, given that so far we'd only seen one bald eagle and about a hundred ravens. The rest of the day was fairly uneventful - this stretch of the drive was about 500 miles of this:
We hit one big rainstorm, which made visibility so bad for a while that we rode it out in a Tim Horton's (the Canadian version of Dunkin' Donuts - almost every Canadian town we passed through had a Tim Horton's and an A&W. I guess they love donuts and root beer). Later that day we passed through Dawson Creek, where we ended the Western Access route and finally turned onto the actual Alaska Highway.
